We’re in the process of revising our data collection methodology for Instagram. With these revisions, we will be phasing out metrics for profiles that are not considered  'Professional Accounts' on Instagram. Eventually, we’ll be removing these accounts from our database.

What are Professional Accounts and what aren't?

On the Instagram app, a user is given the option to switch an account to a Professional Account. These accounts are officially considered as Professional Accounts and need not necessarily have to be businesses or even verified accounts; even a personal Instagram account can be easily converted to a Professional Account.

Any account that has not been switched to a Professional Account on the Instagram app will not be considered. Instagram’s API does not provide data for these anymore and due to these changes, we won’t be able to provide data for these accounts.

Are any metrics available for Instagram profiles that aren't Professional Accounts?

At the moment, you’ll be able to find metrics for these profiles but they would not have been updated for some time. However, by September 30, 2019, these profiles will not be found in the database if a user searches for them.

What happens to profiles that are not Professional Accounts that have already been added to Groups on Unmetric Analyze?

By September 30, 2019, these profiles will be removed from these Groups.

Can I see data if my profile is converted to a Professional Account on Instagram?

If you’ve converted a profile to a Professional Account on the Instagram app, please contact your Account Manager so that we can reconfigure it and add it as a Professional Account to Unmetric’s database.
